TRNT1

  • Official Full Name

    tRNA nucleotidyl transferase, CCA-adding, 1
  • Overview

The CCA-adding enzyme TRNT1 (EC 2.7.7.25) is an essential enzyme that catalyzes the addition of the CCA terminus to the;3-prime end of tRNA precursors. This reaction is a fundamental prerequisite for mature tRNAs to become aminoacylated;and to participate in protein biosynthesis (Lizano et al., 2007 (PubMed 17204286)).

    Protein Function

TRNT1 has several biochemical functions, for example, ATP binding,ATP:3-cytidine-cytidine-tRNA adenylyltransferase activity,CTP:3-cytidine-tRNA cytidylyltransferase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by TRNT1 itself. We selected most functions TRNT1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with TRNT1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
