TRH
-
Official Full Name
Tryptophan Hydroxylase -
Overview
Tyrosine hydrolase (TYH) is the enzyme which converts tyrosine to dihydroxyphenylalanine (L-dopa), a precursor of the catecholamine neurotransmitters dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline. Tryptophan hydrolase (TRH) is the enzyme that converts 5-hydroxytryptophan to serotonin. TRH can be used as a marker for serotonin as it converts 5-hydroxy-tryptophan to serotonin. Serotonin is rapidly metabolized and is unable to be detected by anti-serotonin antibodies in post mortem tissue. In human tissue that has been formalin-fixed, due to a change in the antigenic determinant of TYH, this product will bind only TRH. The antibody can therefore be used to specifically identify serotonergic neurons in fixed human tissues. Phenylalanine hydrolase (PAH) can be detected in hepatic tissue sections. -

Involved Pathway
TRH involved in several pathways and played different roles in them. We selected most pathways TRH participated on our site, such as Class A/1 (Rhodopsin-like receptors),G alpha (q) signalling events,GPCR downstream signaling, which may be useful for your reference. Also, other proteins which involved in the same pathway with TRH were listed below. Creative BioMart supplied nearly all the proteins listed, you can search them on our site.

Protein Function
TRH has several biochemical functions, for example, neuropeptide hormone activity,thyrotropin-releasing hormone activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by TRH itself. We selected most functions TRH had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with TRH. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

Interacting Protein
TRH has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with TRH here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of TRH.
