TCN1

  • Official Full Name

transcobalamin I (vitamin B12 binding protein, R binder family)
  • Overview

This gene encodes a member of the vitamin B12-binding protein family. This family of proteins, alternatively referred to as R binders, is expressed in various tissues and secretions. This protein is a major constituent of secondary granules in neutrophils and facilitates the transport of cobalamin into cells.
  • Synonyms

    TCN1;transcobalamin I (vitamin B12 binding protein, R binder family);transcobalamin-1;haptocorin;haptocorrin;TC1;TCI;TC-1

    Protein Function

TCN1 has several biochemical functions, for example, cobalamin binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by TCN1 itself. We selected most functions TCN1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with TCN1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
