HOXC13 is a member of a highly conserved family of transcription factors that play an important role in morphogenesis in all multicellular organisms and provide cells with specific positional identities on the anterior-posterior axis. HOXC13 is a sequence- specific transcription factor that may play a role in the development of hair, nail, and filiform papilla. -
