RAG1
-
Official Full Name
recombination activating gene 1 -
Overview
The sequences encoding antigen receptors are split into multiple germline segments which are then combined by a process called V(D)J recombination during immune cells development. A variable (V) segment is combined with a joining (J) segment, and in some -

Protein Function
RAG1 has several biochemical functions, for example, DNA binding,T/G mismatch-specific endonuclease activity,UDP-N-acetylmuramoylalanyl-D-glutamyl-2,6-diaminopimelate-D-alanyl-D-alanine ligase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by RAG1 itself. We selected most functions RAG1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with RAG1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
