KALRN

  • Official Full Name

    kalirin, RhoGEF kinase
  • Overview

Huntingtons disease (HD), a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by loss of striatal neurons, is caused by an expansion of a polyglutamine tract in the HD protein huntingtin. This gene encodes a protein that interacts with the huntingtin-associated protein 1, which is a huntingtin binding protein that may function in vesicle trafficking. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.

    Protein Function

KALRN has several biochemical functions, for example, ATP binding,Rho guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity, enzyme binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by KALRN itself. We selected most functions KALRN had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with KALRN. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
