GRHL1

  • Official Full Name

    grainyhead-like 1 (Drosophila)
  • Overview

This gene encodes a member of the grainyhead family of transcription factors. The encoded protein can exist as a homodimer or can form heterodimers with sister-of-mammalian grainyhead or brother-of-mammalian grainyhead. This protein functions as a transcription factor during development. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2009]

    Protein Function

GRHL1 has several biochemical functions, for example, RNA polymerase II core promoter proximal region sequence-specific DNA binding, chromatin DNA binding,sequence-specific DNA binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by GRHL1 itself. We selected most functions GRHL1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with GRHL1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
