Overview
SLD5 or GINS4 is a member of the GINS complex which is involved in initiation of replication and unwinding of DNA. It is highly conserved amongst eukaryotes. The GINS complex in yeast associates with DNA polymerase epsilon and stimulates its catalytic activity. It also interacts with Cdc45 and the MCM2-7 complex to activate the eukaryotic minichromosome maintenance helicase. -
