Cat.No.:  PE-1811
Product Name:  PRMT3 (human recombinant)
Description:  Protein arginine methyltransferases (PRMTs) are a family of enzymes with highly conserved catalytic domains that catalyze the transfer of a methyl group from S-adenosyl-L-methionine (SAM) to a specific arginine residue in a target protein. PRMT3 is a type-1 PRMT, catalyzing the formation of ω-NG-monomethylarginine (MMA) and asymmetric ω-NG,NG-dimethylarginine (ADMA). In contrast to other members of the PRMT family, PRMT3 is predominantly cytoplasmic and constitutively expressed. PRMT3 contains a C2H2-type zinc finger which is responsible for substrate recognition/binding. PRMT3 has been shown to interact with the 40S ribosomal protein S2 (rpS2) and methylate arginine residues in the arginine-glycine (RG) repeat region in the amino-terminus of rpS2.
