| Description: | HeLa nuclear extract (4 hr serum response) was prepared from a cell culture of the HeLa human epithelial carcinoma cell line. The addition of serum to HeLa cells after serum starvation stimulates various biological processes associated with induction of gene expression, differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. Therefore, serum-stimulated cells are commonly utilized in research to analyze activation of transcription of early response genes. It has been shown that serum stimulation leads to activation of several key transcription factors, including activator protein 1 (AP-1) family and Sp1, that regulate the expression of early response genes. |

| Extract Composition: | HeLa nuclear extract (4 hr serum response) is supplied in Dilution Buffer (20 mM Hepes (pH 7.9), 100 mM KCl, 1 mM MgCl2, 20% glycerol, 0.5 mM PMSF and 0.5 mM DTT). Cells were cultured for 24 hours in low serum (0.5%) conditions and then serum-stimulated (10%) for 4 hours prior to harvesting. |
