Product Overview: | A potent inhibitor of SIRT1 and SIRT3 |
Description: | 4’-bromo-Resveratrol is a potent inhibitor of the deacetylases sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) and 3 (SIRT3). It is a brominated derivative of resveratrol, a polyphenol found in red wine, which activates SIRT1 and inhibits SIRT3. The use of 4’-bromo-resveratrol in an SIRT3 crystal binding study revealed two compound binding sites which, combined with homology modeling, suggested that the second site may account for the paradoxical activation of SIRT1 by unmodified resveratrol. |
