Cat.No.: | PE-3664 |
Product Name: | Recombinant BPTF / FALZ (2791-2911) protein |
Product Overview: | Recombinant BPTF / FALZ (2791-2911) protein that includes amino acids 2791-2911 of human FALZ protein (accession number NP_872579.2) was expressed in E. coli and contains an N-terminal His-Tag and C-terminal FLAG-Tag with a molecular weight of 20.3 kDa. The purity of the protein is >90% by SDS-PAGE. |
Background: | BPTF (Bromodomain PHD finger transcription factor) is a histone-binding component of NuRF (nucleosome-remodeling factor), a complex which catalyzes ATP-dependent nucleosome sliding and facilitates transcription of chromatin. BPTF protein contains a DNA-binding domain, a zinc finger motif and a bromodomain. Bromodomains recognize acetylated histone lysine residues and function as ‘readers’ of these epigenetic histone marks to regulate chromatin structure and gene expression by linking associated proteins to the acetylated nucleosomal targets. BPTF also specifically recognizes H3 tails trimethylated on lysine 4 (H3K4me3), which mark transcription start sites of virtually all active genes. It may also regulate transcription through direct binding to DNA or transcription factors. |
Applications: | Suitable for use in binding assays, inhibitor screening, and selectivity profiling. |
