In addition to binding to acetylated histone proteins, the bromodomain (BD) of BRD9 has been reported to bind butyryllysine as well. BRD9 is reported to be part of SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complexes in leukemic cells and inhibition of BRD9 BD binding has an anti-proliferative effect on these cells. |
