Product Overview :
Significance of Measurement: Soil dehydrogenase activity reflects the abundance of metabolically active microorganisms and their capacity for organic matter degradation, serving as an indicator of soil microbial activity.
Principle of Measurement: 2,3,5-Triphenyl tetrazolium chloride (TTC) acts as a hydrogen acceptor and is reduced to triphenyl formazan (TF) during microbial respiration. TF is red in color and shows a maximum absorbance at 485 nm. sDHA activity is determined spectrophotometrically at 485 nm.
