Blood copper (Cu) Content Assay Kit

Product Overview :
Under acidic conditions, copper bound to proteins is dissociated. Ascorbic acid (in its reduced form) reduces the dissociated divalent copper ions to monovalent copper ions. These monovalent copper ions then form a blue complex with the chromogenic agent 3,5-DiBr-PAESA. This complex has a characteristic absorption peak at a wavelength of 600 nm. By measuring the change in absorbance, the concentration of copper in the blood can be calculated.
